Emily herself wrote and directed this play and based it through her own experience with infertility. This is personal and we admire her for sharing not only her own personal story but how it ties in many women's stories and journey in this process. We loved hearing his passion along with the history and 4 generations with this treasured business. The site of this business has a long history with selling lumber and building materials. 1905 the Ward Brothers operated a sawmill along with flooring, coal and lumber yard out of one of the existing buildings still being used today! The business now offers and provides a wide variety of products in: building, paint, plumbing, electrical, tools, hardware, lawn and garden. This supply dealer specializes in kitchen and bath design... they basically have anything that deals with construction materials! Good morning everyone! The Band of Locals - Buy Local First is always live on Friday mornings at 9:15am on SUNNY 97.3 with Steve and host Carlleen Rose. Today's guest was Mark Brejcha who wears many hats in our community. He has had a 30-year career in the U.S. Air Force, former adjutant of Post 98 and District 10's Boys and Girls State recruiter. Mark talked about the great service and work of our community's veterans and we loved hearing the story of General Fuller and the national impact on our country he had. From his accolades, to roads here and at Quantico being named after him to presidents recognizing him and more. Make sure to watch and listen to this video to hear all the fascinating facts! This year, there is going to be a statue head of General Fuller being made and Gordy Mallett from our community has already made the clay sculpture and it is being bronzed. It will be revealed in November this year. Donations are still being accepted for this project. You can write a check to the American Legion Post 98 and send to 320 S. Fourth Street or call Mark directly at 231-527-5441 and he will pick up your financial donation. November will also be the Veterans Parade in Big Rapids and we heard from Mark how our community's parade was the 3rd largest in the state after Detroit and Grand Rapids - our community is amazing and the support we give truly shines.

There is so much to do in Mecosta County in the summers. Last night we went to Gypsy Nickel and enjoyed a late lunch on the deck over looking the river. Later our Granddaughter joined us and we visited Gwin Girls Winery and enjoyed dinner and listened to live music. We had lunch today at the Gwin Girls in Remus Michigan today. What a lovely group of women. The additional treat was that they all know about Celiac Disease and gluten free. They were very knowledgeable about it. I will definitely be returning.
This year’s Bulldog Bonanza will be held on Wednesday, September 8, from 4-7 pm. The Bulldog Bonanza is an event where our new students will get to see the Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) on campus, as well as, get to see what vendors and services are in the area. This event is for informational purposes only – no selling or fundraising is allowed.
All tables will be outside on the Robinson (North) Quad. The RSOs will be there also. No power will be available so any electronics used would need to be battery operated. In the case of inclement weather, we will be inside the University Center.
The charge for profit vendors is $50.00 and $10.00 for non-profits.
